The students had a great time spending their hard-earned cash at the Duffmart on Friday afternoon. Some also made deposits in their bank accounts for next month's shopping trip. Thank you to our PALS partner, Scotiabank for providing us with bank books and plastic sleeves! The classroom currency is not only a reward program in my classroom, but a way to practice our math skills and learn about savings.
This week was "Be Buddy, not a Bully" at Saint Rose School. We took part in various activities throughout the week in our classroom and school. We learned the difference between conflict and bullying. Not every situation is a bullying issue, but just times where we don't get along with a school mate. On Friday, we all wore something pink to show our stand against bullying. Our home page has a great music video....check it out! We also went outside and wrote and drew pictures of messages of friendship. I hope this week's activities will be remembered when we face troubles.
I would like to welcome a Co-op student from SJHS, Miss Ricketts to our classroom. She will spend every afternoon in our classroom exploring what it is like to be a teacher. We hope she enjoys herself and has a positive experience.
I am absolutely thrilled with everyone's Rock Collections! WOW! What a wonderful collection of projects. I sincerely hope that the students enjoyed this project. This upcoming week each student will have the opportunity to share two rocks from their collection. Thank you to parents/guardians for your support! Being a mom, I understand that you worked hard too!
Mrs. Duff and her students will keep you posted on what we are up to!
